Kunōzan Tōshōgū Shrine is a beautifully preserved Shinto shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Edo period(1600-1868). Located on Mount Kunō in Shizuoka City, the shrine features vibrant lacquered buildings, intricate carvings, and sweeping views of Suruga Bay. Visitors can reach the shrine either by climbing a long series of historic stone steps or by taking the Nihondaira Ropeway from the mountaintop.
