🏔️ Spot Overview
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is one of the most important shrines dedicated to the deity of Mt. Fuji and the traditional starting point of the Yoshida Trail. With a history of over 1,900 years, the shrine features towering cedar trees, a grand torii gate, and beautifully preserved wooden buildings—many designated as Important Cultural Properties. The long stone‑lantern‑lined approach creates a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Located in Fujiyoshida City and part of the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Site, the shrine offers a rich blend of culture, history, and sacred mountain traditions, making it a must‑visit for culturally minded travelers.
