The eight ponds in this area is made of spring water from the underground water that flowed in from Mt.Fuji. “Oshino” is the name of the area, and “Hakkai” can be described as 8 seas of pond.

🚐 Access from Shimizu Port (Hinode Pier) to Oshino Hakkai

1. By Taxi / Private Transfer – Fastest & Easiest

  • Travel time: approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
  • This is the fastest option, according to route data showing driving time around 1h 21m.
  • Ideal for cruise passengers who need a guaranteed return to the ship.

2. By Train + Bus (Public Transport)

Shimizu Port → JR Shimizu Station → JR Shizuoka Station → Kawaguchiko → Oshino Hakkai

  1. Shuttle bus or taxi
    • Hinode Pier → JR Shimizu Station (10 min)
  2. JR Train
    • Shimizu → Shizuoka Station (12 min)
  3. Highway Bus
    • Shizuoka Station → Kawaguchiko Station (approx. 2h 10m)
  4. Local Bus
    • Kawaguchiko → Oshino Hakkai (20–25 min)

Total travel time: approx. 3.5 hours one way.
There are only a limited number of buses from Shizuoka Station, so we do not recommend this option for cruise passengers on a tight schedule.
