■Taiseki-Ji Temple, Fujinomiya

📝 Spot Overview

Taiseki‑ji Temple is the head temple of Nichiren Shoshu, founded in 1290 at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The vast 70‑hectare grounds include a striking five‑story pagoda, an impressive Sanmon Gate, and the sacred Mieidō Hall. More than 5,000 cherry trees bloom in spring, creating one of the region’s most beautiful sakura landscapes. While the outdoor areas are open to the public, entry into temple buildings is generally limited to Nichiren Shoshu believers or those accompanied by one. With its peaceful atmosphere, open spaces, and views of Mt. Fuji, the temple offers a unique cultural and scenic experience.
