Shimizu Funakoshi Tsutsumi Park is a large nature‑rich park located on the eastern foothills of Nihondaira. From the hilltop observation deck, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of majestic Mt. Fuji directly in front of them, along with the cityscape of Shimizu and Shimizu Port below. The scenery changes beautifully with the seasons.
In spring, the park becomes a famous cherry‑blossom spot as the entire hillside turns pink. Throughout the rest of the year, the park is loved by locals for activities such as fishing at the pond, exploring the athletic course, and strolling along the small streams.
Inside the park, the traditional tea house Seishintei hosts cultural experiences for cruise passengers. Guests can enjoy a welcome drink of sencha, a hands‑on matcha tea ceremony, and Japanese sweets. The program also includes a kimono or yukata dressing experience, allowing visitors to change into traditional clothing and enjoy a memorable photo session while immersing themselves in Japanese culture.
